ABOUT
Vernon House is a traditional Grade II listed house prominently positioned in the hearth of Rowsley, Chatsworth estate. The house was built in 1809 but it was renovated in 2020 to a high standard, offering you a luxurious stay but maintain the traditional atmosphere.

Vernon House cater for up to 8-10 people amongst 4 well-proportioned bedrooms, 2 reception room and additional private room. The house kept beautiful character features such as original shutters, exposed beams, sash windows and oak fireplace with wood burning stove.

Cosy living room with oak fireplace seats comfortable 8 people and it is equipped with British Made sofas. A separate library/game room has another large sofa and armchairs, card table, books, games and a record player. We just love this room. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking, you can even bake a cake for your party. You will find here stylish crockery and all electrical appliances (range oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle). Dining area is linked to the kitchen and has a large dining table with 8 dining chairs.

On the first floor, there are 3 bedrooms featuring Hypnos beds and mattresses (carrying The Royal Crest) and 2 of them has en-suit facilities. There is an additional family bathroom and separate WC for convenience and privacy. A further large bedroom is on the top floor with king size bed and Hypnos mattress. Next to this room is an additional cosy area complete with TV, armchairs, day bed for 2 children, games console and games.

Market town
Near Rowsley is a market town Bakewell offering you a wide range of shops, restaurants and coffee houses. Matlock Bath is a nearby popular town with stylish shops, walk along the river and amusements arcades.
Chatsworth House
Home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is only 2.7 mile from Vernon House. You can visit the house interior, beautiful gardens, working farmyard with playground or just walk around the estate. It's also worthy to check a number of shows at Chatsworth, including their own Country Fair.
Bike rides
The Peak District is well known for numerous cycle trails. There is a choice for everyone - families and leisure cyclists, off road trails, or explore the hilltops around the Peak District.
The Monsal Trail is highly recommended.
Haddon Hall
The English country house, home of Lord and Lady Edward Manners. This elegant castle is one of the finest fortified manor houses. It is situated only 1.5 miles from Vernon House.
Fishing
Fly Fishing is available around the River Wye, It's one of the only rivers in the country with wild rainbow trout. You can find lessons if you would like some assistance.
